The Brown House by Christy Sloat

This review was posted on 12/16/2012. This is the first book I ever reviewed!

This is my review for "The Brown House" by Christy Sloat

Brylee Branson and her parents moved to New Jersey from California after her dad lost his job. Brylee must now make the adjustment from being a west coaster to being an east coaster.

Brylee, a high school junior, meets Lynley a day after moving into the Brown House. They become fast friends and Lyn tells Brylee the history of the Brown House, the house that Brylee and her parents have just moved into, and about it being haunted.

Brylee learns at one point that she can see and talk to ghosts. It doesn't scare her, like I would expect from a teen, but it does make her question why. With her new friends, Lyn and Lyn's brother Ephraim Mayhew, she sets out on a journey to learn more about her haunted house and the curse that she discovers plagued the former owners.

This book has everything from warm feelings, to tears, with many chills thrown in. I am anxious to see what the next book holds for the three friends.
